A new school year begins

«Even if it seems difficult and adverse (RB 7,35)»

The new school year started on August 24th. The fact alone that two services were celebrated this year - one for the upper classes and an hour later for the lower classes - proves the extraordinary situation we are in at the moment. In his sermon, Fr. Paul took up the annual motto "Even if it seems difficult and adverse (RB 7,35)" and pointed out various strategies if things don't go well. Get advice and support, stand firm and keep the goal in mind. Look for help, talk to others about it, hold out a little, seek distance and take a deep breath and ask God for his help. "

We have a school year ahead of us that we don't know what to expect. It took a lot of preparatory work on the part of those responsible throughout the summer so that the GKD is prepared for this special situation. In addition, our rector Tom Etter has created a comprehensive COVID-19 protection concept. This means that everyone on the school premises is now obliged to wear a mask. As far as possible, the lessons were spread over larger rooms so that the required distance can be maintained and the lessons can in most cases be conducted without masks. The general hygiene rules are still valid for all teachers and students, i.e. regular hand washing and no handshaking or hugging. Much used surfaces such as door handles etc. are cleaned regularly and all rooms are thoroughly ventilated several times a day.

If we all stick to these rules of the game, we will master this difficult time together.
