Career day at the GKD

Interesting professional insights from our alumni

One of the most important questions that a young person has to ask himself in the course of his life, at the latest at the end of his school career, is: Which job suits me? It is often difficult for students to choose a branch or a path. Would you like to start your professional life straight away, go to university, do internships? Which job, which course, which internship?

In order to prepare a little better, a career day took place at the GKD at the end of November, on which various alumni of our school presented their training and their jobs to the students. Disentis Alumni President Dr. Alexandra Albert-Wicki and Rector Tom Etter were also very pleased that numerous "alumni" had agreed to do so.

After the opening speech by Dr. Sarah Lechmann (University of Zurich, Co-Managing Director Digital Society Initiative) with the topic "Mark Twain already said: Do What You Love", reported Lieutenant Caroline Weibel on the "Army Opportunity" to combine studies and military service " Schoolchildren attend workshops with the various speakers: Larissa Göde (JURA Elektroapparate, International Business Manager), Remo Pfister (UBS Wealth Management), among others, covered the subjects of economics, law, medicine / biochemistry, natural sciences / IT, journalism and administration / military ), Lukas Rusch (Pestalozzi Lawyers Zurich / Geneva), Felix Schalcher (ABB, Group Manager), Alexandra Albert (Erlenbach Dental Practice), Philipp Raschle (Synpuls Switzerland Management Consulting), Franziska WALKER (Midor Food), Flavio Bundi (Editor-in-Chief RTR) , Daniel Foppa SRF), Gian M. On this very exciting day, the students were able to gather valuable experience for their future life.

A big thank you to Alexandra Albert for the great organization and to all speakers.
